Ribble FM

A Helping Hand in the Valley

I revisited my local Community Radio Station today, Ribble FM, based in Clitheroe. I wanted to know how the station had helped to coordinate the local and regional relief effort during the COVID-19 Crisis, for a forthcoming article in RadioUser. Station Owner and Manager Lee Roe was kind enough to give some time to talk about the role of the station in these challenging times. I learned about the new Ribble Valley and Community Support (RVCS) Group and food parcel deliveries to the vulnerable, about adapting station schedules and coordinating deliveries and distribution centres. Most importantly I understood how the perception of the radio station amongst the people who call the Ribble Valley home, has changed. Read my full article in the August 2020 issue of RadioUser.

The pictures show station manager Lee and presenters Maureen Little and Mark Blackman, plus station staff.
