Countdown to Radio Days Europe 2020
One of the most important radio conferences on the annual event calendar. RadioUser's Chrissy Brand is there.
Countdown to Radiodays Europe 2020
A few days in Lisbon in early Spring is a bonus for those of us attending the Radiodays Europe 2020 conference, which takes place from March 29th to 31st. As an organiser of international events and conferences in my past, I recall just how full-on the last few weeks can be. Behind the scenes, organisation and juggling are the order of the day, from lighting rigs to catering, timing logistics to exhibition stands. Keeping all the delegates and speakers up to date with developments is also time-consuming.
But the team at Radiodays have done it smoothly and successfully for many years. I know that when I turn up, it will be a seamless process, from registration to networking events, presentations to social events. Wandering around the exhibition space is always an engaging way to start, where dozens of exhibitors and delegates chat in “the space where radio people meet radio people.”
The conference theme for 2020 is Sound ideas, Sound decisions and I look forward to hearing dozens of the hundreds of speakers at over fifty sessions across four parallel tracks. In addition, there are a series of conference masterclasses. These cover the topics of how to put constructive journalism into news reporting and being able to report more accurately on the world; a creativity class on podcast development; how to structure youth development and reach diverse target groups; and empowering women in the radio or audio workplace.
