Four Little Rubber Duckies Went Scanning
A New Antenna from Moonraker
MRW-125 Super-Gainer
From Chris Taylor at Moonraker comes news of an exciting new aerial for scannerists (is that a word? It is now!). The MRW-125 super gainer antenna has been designed for use with the Uniden Bearcat UBC-125XLT, and all other handheld scanners. I’ve had it here in the editor’s shack and used it with both the Whistler TRX-1 and the ICOM IC-R20 (see pics). And yes, it does offer a big improvement over the standard rubber duckie or telescopic antenna supplied, especially on the civil and military airbands (which are lively, up here) and for the new digital modes.
I have four of these flexible little beauties to give away in a competition for RadioUser readers, details TBC, watch this website and the magazine!
