The January 2020 edition of your favourite radio magazine contains a profile of Maureen Little, an innovative new presenter of a classical music show on the local Community Radio Station, Ribble FM. There are very few classical programmes on UK Community Radio, and even fewer presented by women; so Maureen is somewhat of a ‘pathbreaker’. We interview Maureen at her studio and learn about both the technical aspects of making and broadcasting her programme, A Little Classical Music, and the cultural and social impact of the show in the local community. The story is an inspiring example of empowerment and change via the medium of radio.
