What's inside this month's issue?
This month, RadioUser offers an in-depth feature on the brilliant, but lesser-known, Australian radio astronomer Ruby Payne-Scott, whose work on solar radio bursts was instrumental for radar and radio astronomy research before, during and after the Second World War. Her story is one of outstanding academic success, against the very considerable odds of a male-dominated environment, and backgrounded by the discriminatory legislation of the period. We believe that no other radio magazine has ever featured this eminent female radio scientist, and we respectfully dedicate this issue to her memory. You can read more about radio astronomy, meteor showers and solar radio emissions in this and future issues of RadioUser.
