Social Diversity, and More

Volunteering Roles at the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB)

 RSGB Social Diversity Officer

The RSGB is seeking applicants for the volunteer role of Social Diversity Officer (SDO). The SDO will advise the Board on practical and pragmatic approaches to increasing social diversity and inclusion within the RSGB membership and amateur radio. They will need to consider all aspects of diversity and make suitable data-driven recommendations to the Board on how the diversity within the RSGB membership and amateur radio can be increased. Some thought should be given to the needs of radio amateurs of all ages, and each of the protected characteristics must be considered. The SDO will also need to take into account the activities of the RAIBC (https://raibc.org.uk) and ensure that we complement its ongoing work to support disabled radio amateurs. Full information about the role, including how to apply, is on the RSGB website (below) The deadline for applications is Monday 16 January 2023.

RSGB Lecture Chair

The RSGB facilitates just over sixty lectures per year in a mixture of in-person, hybrid and remote formats. Fifty of these are at the RSGB Convention, and eleven are delivered through the live-streamed Tonight@8 webinar programme of events.

This set of lectures aims to cover a wide mix of amateur radio-related subjects, across all depths of amateur radio experience and knowledge. These lectures are watched and admired by RSGB members and non-members across the world. Up until now, the lectures have been brought together by a small informal group consisting of RSGB staff and volunteers. The RSGB seeks a volunteer Lecture Chair to lead and expand this group, and to manage the lecture invitation and scheduling process for both Tonight@8 and the Convention.

Full information about the role, including how to apply, is on the RSGB website (below). The deadline for applications is Monday 16 January 2023.
