The City Radio has Arrived
An Innovative Idea
Try Out this new Radio
‘Radio’ or sophisticated Bluetooth speaker? An interesting concept for modern radio-listening, this. The sleek Palomar City Radio was invented in a Helsinki-based design studio under Emanuele Pizzolorusso. It needs an App on your smartphone, and it requires a good data connection at all times. You get a set of magnetic buttons, which you can stick onto the device, to listen to radio stations from that particular city. Leave your phone anywhere in the house and take the radio to another room, Or take this on holiday. I found the Bluetooth range is very good. Calls to and from your phone will interrupt the radio. You can use the City Radio outside and with your phone’s internet connection via SIM too. And, when not in use to get radio from New York, Berlin or Jakarta, you can use this as an ordinary Bluetooth speaker. Will it catch on? Read next month’s full review in RadioUser.
