SAQ Celebrates

The theme for the 12th edition of World Radio Day 2023 – to be celebrated on February 13th, 2023 – is ‘Radio and Peace’. SAQ is therefore scheduled to be on the air, to send out a peace message to the whole world, using the unique 200kW Alexanderson alternator, from 1924, on 17.2 kHz CW.

Program and Transmission Schedule

15:00 CET (14:00 UTC): The transmitter hall at World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station is open for visitors.

Transmission & YouTube Live stream:

15:25 CET (14:25 UTC): Live stream on YouTube begins.

15:30 CET (14:30 UTC): Startup and tuning of the Alexanderson Alternator SAQ.

16:00 CET (15:00 UTC): Transmission of a peace message from SAQ.

Test Transmissions

SAQ are planning for a test transmission on 13^th February, at approximately 13:00 CET (12:00 UTC). SAQ will be on air for 20-30 minutes when the station will be carrying out some tuning tests.
